Heavy gravel road to this parking spot. Once there, you can easily get stuck in sand if you have simple FWD car. But it is worth visiting and hiking up to the rocks and observe their formation. Words cannot describe the beauty of nature

We had a family trip to Arizona last year, and we visited The New Wave in Page , a stunning sandstone formation.

It was an ideal spot for our kids to discover and enjoy. They were thrilled and had an amazing time exploring the surrounding. Highly recommend for anyone passing through!

Très jolie balade plate et pas du tout dangereuse. Un bon complément à Antelope Canyon mais… gratuit ! Les enfants ont adoré se balader et grimper sur les parois.
Attention : les Navajos sont en train de le rendre payant !

Tra le meraviglie naturali che la città di Page, in Arizona, ha da offrire, spicca questo spettacolo di rocce chiamato *The New Wave*. Questa straordinaria concentrazione rocciosa è una vera e propria opera d'arte scolpita dalla natura, un'attrazione che assomiglia per certi versi alla sua omonima e famosissima area di "The Wave" nello Utah, ma almeno qui al momento non occore The New Wave offre un panorama incredibile di formazioni rocciose che si sono modellate nel corso di milioni di anni. Queste onde di pietra, con le loro curve morbide e le striature che si intrecciano in un gioco di luci e ombre, sembrano catturare il movimento stesso del vento che le ha create.
A differenza delle attrazioni più conosciute, qui si può godere di una maggiore tranquillità, immergendosi completamente nella bellezza del paesaggio senza troppa folla. Le rocce, con le loro sfumature che vanno dal rosso acceso all’ocra dorata, assumono tonalità diverse, offrendo sempre nuove prospettive e scorci da ammirare.
Il percorso per raggiungere The New Wave non è troppo impegnativo, ma richiede comunque calzature adatte e una buona scorta d’acqua, specialmente nei mesi più caldi. Una volta arrivati, prendetevi il tempo di esplorare, di osservare da vicino le striature sulla superficie delle rocce e di lasciarvi ispirare dalla straordinaria bellezza di questo angolo nascosto dell'Arizona.

This was such a fun short hike with my family- kids ages 9&11. Very scenic and few people around. It was a little difficult to find the starting point but as soon as you park look for a little sign (about 200 feet in front of the parking spot) with rocks as markers for the trail. If you didn't win the lottery for "the Wave" this is a great alternative. The rocks have lots of vibrant colors. We went in the morning 9:30-11 and it was perfect. Take some time to explore and pose for fun pictures. Very few people on this hike... we had a great time. We spent around and hour and half here. Doesn't matter what way you start it loops around. You also don't need a permit and there is no fee to park. We stopped at the observatory dam 2min away first and confirmed the entrance and directions. Also used the All Trails app to find exactly where to go. But there is a rock path that people have left for the best way. Didn't really follow it and did our own exploring on the the rocks and books. We had a great time and got some amazing pictures.

It's definitely not the wave. But it was still a fun place and did have a little bit of a wave like feel. The cool part is there is no permit and it is literally right off the highway. So if you are going through anyway it is definitely worth the stop. For some reason Google maps thought the main trailhead started a ways past the main parking lot. We ended up just parking along the side of a dirt road. I would recommend ignoring Google and just parking in the main parking lot.

The New Wave. Beautiful rock formations that are very easy to walk on. A must visit when visiting Page, AZ. This is actually the 2nd best highlight of our visit in March 2024 after the Antelope Canyon.
