I just want this review to be a warning for people who plan on working in elections as an intermittent in this office.
It is a terrible place to work, they give and cut hours at random with (self admitted by HR) no fair system for distributing hours for the intermittent employees.
I wanted to work here as a place to get started in my career and pay through school. All I got was mistreatment, unfair hours, and being taken advantage of for easy signature verification.
The full time employees are all burnt out with mandatory overtime and 7 day week work during elections and that happens while many intermittent people stay home with no calls for work. During down times the full time get a guarantee of 40 hours, while I have to struggle to pay bills after not working for 4 months straight.
They use and dry up the intermittent people then toss em out when they are done. All while giving more full time positions to people outside the office. So sorry to any of you who have dreams of becoming a full time member, they will give that role to intermittents they like more, who have worked less time than you, and hire outside people.
They lie about fair treatment
No transparency on the hiring process just a "trust me we do it fairly" attitude with nothing to back it up. I couldn't get feedback on my interviews and I cannot see reasons that many intermittents couldn't get the positions.
I worked here for growth and all I got was used so your votes can be verified for cheap. While giving preference to all the buddies in the office. It's toxic and deeply disappointing.
Hopefully this can reach a few people looking up the direction for their interviews in the future and hold this place more accountable with treating employees fairly.
Don't get taken advantage of. Know your self worth. Don't settle for treatment like this. Especially when it's paid with tax dollars.

I had a very good and timely response to my questions. There was a short wait but beyond that, I spoke with two people who were knowledgable and handled my issues. I'm glad to see that the various parties are sending out voter registration forms, in my case multiple times so I checked, and today I was approached by someone at the post office as well. Good to know Tucson is getting everyone registered. I believe the Recorders office has worked tirelessly under our previous and now current Director. Kudos!
