We were traveling through Parker and stopped at the Cross Road Cafe. The food was great, but as we were eating, the police came in and said we're were getting a parking ticket and required us to go outside. We were kept there for 2 hours while they tried to complete giving us a ticket. The ticket was completely wrong. The name was incorrect, putting last, middle, and first in the wrong place. It said we were in front of a business, and we were on an empty street with no signage that said no parking. We moved our vehicle and was still kept because their printer was not working. We finally were able to leave, and a week later, we called the court to take care of the ticket, and they could not find it. After some research, we were told we did our due dilligant, there was no ticket, everything was fine. About a week after that, we received a call from the police officer telling us the ticket was now there and we had to pay it. What an incompetent, unfriendly police department! Not to mention, $160 for a parking ticket is completely unreasonable. Especially when it was unfair and uncalled for. This is not a friendly place for out of towners. Be very careful going there or stopping there for any reason.

Coming through Parker on a Sunday night, I needed an Arizona road map and pulled off here on a whim. Was excited to see that they had some, plus all kinds of other pamphlets available outside, even though the building was closed. Great resource and a beautiful town.
