Actually my beef is not even with Dr. Ortiz. I think that although he's very busy, he's a decent doctor. His staff needs some improving. My daughter is in university and needed some forms filled out that had a deadline of November 15th. I dropped off the forms and was charged $25.00 which I begrudgingly paid (I'm on a fixed income). I let them know the circumstances, the deadline and all our contact information. They told me he was on vacation until November 5th and I was fine with that. I patiently waited but when I didn't hear from them by November 8th, I started calling. I left messages in a voicemail for the medical assistant a couple of times but never heard. I kept calling and each time got different information. The forms finally came with the mail on November 15th with only Dr. Ortiz's signature. Upon calling they told me Dr. Ortiz "doesn't fill out that kind of stuff". They wanted me to fill it out even though it clearly said FOR PHYSICIAN. Isn't that illegal? Needless to say We couldn't use the forms. I wanted my money back so I wanted to speak to the office manager Joey Louvaris but they wouldn't transfer me. I asked for his/her email and they said they don't give out that information. I WAS LIVID!! I am disabled so I count every single penny. This was very disappointing. Especially since, like I said, I feel Dr. Ortiz is a good doctor. My heart also broke for my daughter because she really needed these forms in order to qualify for a program in school. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

Waited months for an appointment with Dr Ortiz. Got switched to his PA.
Got caught in traffic and had never been to their office. It happens to be in TMH. Not sure which parking garage. I had already called to let them know I was running a few minutes behind. They warned me they have a 10 minute rule.
When I called back to find out which parking garage she reminded me again. literally knowing I was parking. Ask which floor but phone cut out. Ran inside, down to lobby was instructed to go down hall. Go to check in say I am late. Guy says don’t worry he types and says oh sorry you’re on the 6th floor. Run down hall up elevator to 6th floor and they refuse to see me. Not one person in the waiting room but me.

Had to reschedule for March 3rd for an appointment my ENT referred me for. So 6 months later we are still not likely to have any answers.

Girls up front we dressed unprofessionally and one literally had a hoodie on. Doesn’t make you feel real confident about the doctor. Doubt they care what their patients think anyway.

Unfortunately, Dr. Ortiz is the only neurologist in Tallahassee who accepted Worker’s Comp. He couldn’t possibly care any less about the issues suffered by the patient. He didn’t listen to me about the issues I was experiencing from a head injury. He never sent me to the Concussion Clinic. His practitioner at the time was shocked to learn he never sent me there, so she did it herself, which is where I learned I had Post Concussion Syndrome. It was the only time I got to see her because Worker’s Comp refused to let me see her again. She was great, but she no longer works there, so don’t waste your time because he’s worthless. In the end, he had a private meeting with the Worker’s Comp insurance people and told them that none of my pain or other cognitive issues had anything to do with a huge chandelier falling on my head, hitting me on my frontal lobe and again on the bridge of my nose before hitting the floor. Five plus years later, I’m still suffering from the aftermath of the accident. He’s the worst kind of human let alone doctor.

They have no compassion for people. They are all about money and not the safety of their patients. I had missed a few appts not my fault but they hold it against you. I had an emergency with my son for the second one third one I didn’t have anyone to take my son to school. I’m a single mom trying to juggle life. Yesterday I had an appt I had to cancel the day of because I ended up in the ER for emergency surgery but they didn’t care about that. SMH what happen to people they just don’t care anymore.

This office is terrible! My previous neurologist retired, so I was referred to Dr. Ortiz. I haven't had any problems with the actual doctor, but his staff is completely inept. I am out of 2 of my medications. The pharmacies have sent multiple refill requests to his office for over a week and his office still hasn't refilled the prescriptions. This isn't the first time this has happened. Last time I left multiple messages requesting my refills in addition to the pharmacy submitting requests. It took 3 weeks for them to send in the refill. Every other neurologist in my plan in Tallahassee is also part of this same practice. In order to see a different neurologist I'm going to have to go to Gainesville. The drive to Gainesville will be worth it though in order to have a competent neurologist's office. Avoid this place at all costs!

I am a caregiver of a 91 year old man with dementia. He was recommended to see Dr. Ortiz for memory issues last year. He had another physician perform the memory test, where they ask the patient questions about something they read earlier during the test and other cognitive tests. My client did not do well on this test at all. The only thing Dr. Ortiz did was prescribe my client Lyrica, which is supposed to help with memory issues and nerve pain (he is diabetic so that was a plus). After taking the Lyrica for approximately 3 months it was time to contact the office for a refill as the pharmacy couldnt get approval from the physician. I have called them so many times I've lost count, only to get a recorded message stating to use patient portal, something I dont have access to... Even his granddaughter, who has access to all of his medical history, can not get through on a phone call and has no luck with the patient portal.
Dr. Ortiz and his staff clearly do not care for their patients wellbeing. They do not want it to be easily accessible for their patients at all, they simply want to collect the insurance money and then be left alone it seems.

What a bunch of morons! If you have something serious KEEP LOOKING - Right hand has idea what the left is DOING! Incompetent referral coordinatorto say the least. Office manager is absolutely clueless and does not answer any calls. She has staff tell you she is in with patients just so she doesn't take the call. Clearly Dr. Ortiz is in it for the same reason as the rest - to line his POCKETS with procedure insurance CASH. Not care for actual people and use his education. Heed caution he just wants to run tests, if they have been done he has no desire to help you. Beware - another money hungry doc. Not here for patients.. At all! Not a friendly staff and they have no clue what they are talking about but claim to - illegal! Keep searching! He has my issue in his medical bio and great doctors refering you to him until he sees he isn't the first doctor and you don't want the poison. Then he doesn't just say no he has them lie and say he doesn't treat it. Quack quack!
