I went into the ER after urgent care turned me away after having heart arrhythmia, blood pressure issues, and electrolyte issues. Got in quickly which was nice. I was one of two people in the waiting room and so it wasn’t busy. The nurse was great. She explained evaluation and testing thoroughly to multiple patients; had a great bedside manner and explained aftercare steps and timeline.

If people have legitimate complaints, there is a grievance process and it is important to file a complaint to create a paper trail for a particular staff member. You don’t help anyone by staying silent. Managers/supervisors need to know what’s going on. If there is true medical negligence, licensing board info is public record that you can look up and where can report a staff member to the board. This is a serious step and there needs to be a grievance in place we’ll before you consider taking this step. Now, if your nurse and/or doctor are doing a good job, please tell them. They don’t hear it enough and it positively reinforces the standard of care.

Thank you Dani (short for Danielle I think) for being an informative, caring, and thorough nurse with positive attitude. You are an exceptional nurse. Thank you

The new “fast” area of the ER is just as slow as it ever was before the remodel, but now there is 0 privacy. You’re literally 2 feet from another patient on either side of you. I heard the patient next to me tell his wife that “(first and last name) from church is here, and she has (problem). I wonder why she hasn’t reached out. We should call (other church member) to get the word out.” Like, what the heck? I want to have an open conversation about my health with my provider, but I had to explain them knowing full well that several other members of the community could hear me, and I wouldn’t even know who was listening.

The doctor was competent and compassionate. The radiology team was professional. But the curtain-walled stalls make you feel like cattle up for auction, there was no call button, and I had to listen to every other patient’s descriptions of intimate symptoms for over 2 hours. I’ll come back if I need to, but I hope they take some steps to protect patient privacy and modesty.

We were seen to promptly and all levels of staff were very caring and provided lots of information. Rocky the respiratory specialist was a particular comfort in a stressful situation, as she went above and beyond to provide treatment as well as bring some cheer with her great attitude. Dr Campbell was super knowledgeable and really took time to answer our questions and put us at ease when it was time to be discharged. Thank you team!

We had to take our daughter here to get checked at. She fell at school and the nurse at the school told us to take her to the emergency room. So we did thinking that it wasn't that big of an issue we took her anyway. When we got there we checked in. They told us that it was going to be about 3 hours to be seen. Having a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old running around is not very fun waiting. But we were going to wait if we needed to. After an hour my daughter was running around laughing. So we were like she is probably fine let's leave. My wife asked two nurses if she could leave they both said no. So my wife starts freaking out thinking why can't we leave? Are they going to call CPS? What's going on So I called another family member to go down to the hospital to help out. They go back up to ask if they can leave and the other nurse who was with the other two that said no, says sure you can leave. My wife and two kids were held at the hospital for 2 hours told they could not leave. She are stressed out because she thinks the hospital's going to do something. Take our kids? This is not okay. We should be able to leave whenever the hell we want and it is not okay to give wrong information out to people. I try to never use yavapai regional but since it's the only hospital in Prescott you're kind of forced that way. We will be going to urgent cares and utilizing other tools instead of going to dignity health.

Kathy had been the most rude, impatient nurse I’ve ever encountered. We’re here to visit my mother in law and she was just so rude and made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe talk to her about her attitude. People need a friendly face not another crappy attitude

I was HONESTLY AMAZED & have admiration for the ER staff ppl at YRMC West (Willow Creek Rd). Ended up in the ER last month for a mean kidney stone. Then ended up in the ER AGAIN this week for another kidney stone lodged at the junction into the bladder. (These are my ONLY x2 visits to any ER in x60 years of my life- I don't go willingly) But as I left, I knew I had to come home & write a review as soon as possible bc of how MANY staff members I witnessed offering kind & compassionate care in a very busy/packed ER room.
I have admiration for a Dr MARK D LOPEZ - to hear & see that man in action w each patient lined up in chairs next to me was AWESOME- That man had such a bright countenance & genuine caring demeanor for each one of us- wow!
And then a young woman named HEATHER made the effort to come out into the waiting room to draw my blood in order to expedite things for me as they could see the pain was intense. As she worked, she kept saying such compassionate things- it was so unexpected & so genuine- wow.
In addition a young man in back by the name of MIKE who put in my IV do so with ultimate skill & continued to tend to me in various ways. He was just exceptionally caring & cheerful.
And I can't forget to mention some older woman at the take in desk area who I never saw (bc I couldn't open my eyes) but I could hear the kindness & compassion in her voice as she was processing my entrance. These folks worked on Tuesday afternoon Oct 22, 2024 And it is my sincere hope that somehow, someway, they may know that I left the emergency room not only feeling relieved of pain, *but also feeling hope in humanity because of THEM & how they each chose to do their healthcare work. Bless you all- each one of you. Much Appreciated. yp

Dr. Pickering did an excellent job with my diagnosis and treatment of Pancreatitis. The nurses were all very friendly, especially night crew Katie.
