I had the pleasure of working with Niko during my search for an apartment at Acero Harvest and I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of service I received. Niko was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and attentive to all of my questions and concerns. He made the entire leasing process smooth and stress-free, taking the time to walk me through the available units, explain the details and help me find the perfect place that suited my needs. Niko's friendly demeanor and commitment to providing excellent service truly made a difference. I highly recommend working with him, if you’re considering leasing here as he goes above and beyond to ensure you’re taken care of and is very personable!

This place is not good! They charge 30 dollars a month for trash pick up and half the time it’s not picked up. The stair wells and hallways are nasty. The mirror in my bathroom was broken when I moved in, going on my third month here. Marks on my floors have been there since I moved in, mark in front door and my sink faucet keeps dangling down. There are dog messes everywhere. They are charging a 50 dollar fee for NSF, even though my rent was paid. They are charging me 50 dollars more than what was posted for my rent, so that’s 100 dollars. Stating if that’s not paid by the 5th they will add another 100. I’ve asked to speak with a Manager or higher up and not given that information. I will be reaching out to the main office. This place is not worth the money!!! They say upscale apartments but they are not!! The pool gets closed down lots because they cannot keep it clean.

Our dishwasher has been broken for 12 days now the management is refusing to send maintenance to resolve the issue. The lady working in the office says because it’s not an “essential” amenity they don’t have to address our maintenance request immediately and we’ll be fine handwashing dishes for awhile. Since the multiple phone calls asking for an update they have closed all our maintenance requests. And won’t return our phone calls.

So I don't know what is going on with Acero. We had rented with them previously and had a big problem but thought maybe it was a management issue and decided to give them another try while we were looking for a home.

A few months prior to our lease ended we finally purchased a home. I lined it up to where we would only have to buy out the last two months of our lease, which would also give them the ability to rent that unit out, making them even more money.

This is when problems started. We gave 61 DAYS NOTICE. The lease requires 60 days OR you are subjected to this “150% multiplier” thing that ends up being a THIRD month of rent.

My husband said NO WAY, we gave 61 DAYS. He went back and forth like three times in email with the woman in the office explaining that is not what the lease says.

FINALLY it took him photocopying that part of the lease and sending it back to them showing that we are NOT subjected to this multiplier. The woman in the office told us the MANAGER was forcing her to keep sending it to us.

Then comes the move out.

We had a $500.00 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT that should have come back to us minus the carpet cleaning, if applicable. The apartment was SPOTLESS. NO PETS. NO SHOES, NOTHING BROKEN.

When we were signing the papers to leave, we were told Acero REQUIRED TO HAVE RECEIPT OF A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING OR WE’D BE SUBJECT TO a $250.00 "SANITATION CLEANING FEE".

I said what? THIS is not in the lease. You can’t decide to keep a deposit for cleaning and it not be in the lease. The girl in the office said that if there was any “damage or heavy cleaning needed” that a PORTION of the deposit could be kept to cover that.

THAT DOESN’T TRANSLATE into “requiring a receipt for a PROFESSIONAL CLEANING or I’d be hit with a $250.00 cleaning fee”.

NOWHERE in the lease does it state that ANYONE is expected to pay for a professional cleaning OR they'd be charged a $250.00 cleaning or “sanitation fee”.

Now, on top of the $250.00, I was ALSO CHARGED an additional $90.00 for the CARPET CLEANING, along WITH ADDITIONAL COSTS. If I’m being charged this cleaning fee, then I’d expect the carpet cleaning and anything else to be included in the SAID FEE!

When exiting an apartment renters are required to "leave the unit in the way you found it". Any deep cleaning or sanitation is on them. It’s THEIR building, I’m only a renter. I cleaned the bathrooms, the floors, vacuumed, dusted, cleaned the fridge, the dishwasher, etc.

There was no damage to the carpet, no spills, no spots, no rips or tears, etc. No damage to the blinds, the appliances, the walls, we didn't even hang one picture.

In the end, all I received from my $500.00 deposit is like $12.00!

I am beyond devastated, I was counting on that money. Over 30 days ago, my husband sent a registered letter contesting this situation, they received it, and no resolution.

It's ridiculous.

I’ve never heard of anything like this, but I swear since the pandemic, so many of these rental companies are taking advantage of people because we're already in a compromised position.

When we moved in we had a leak in our roof in our closet that left us not being able to use our master closet for over a month. We didn’t complain, we allowed everyone in to assess and try to fix the damage.

We were also never compensated for the inconvenience either.

I don’t like to leave negative reviews but I’m tired of being taken advantage of. If they want to keep $250.00, it must be stated in the lease as a “NON REFUNDABLE CLEANING DEPOSIT”.

It's not.

But I still cleaned my unit AND we have pictures dated of our last day to show the condition the unit was left in.

I want my money back.

We were good tenants. We paid our rent on time, NEVER LATE A DAY, didn’t break any conditions, and were always welcoming and accommodating.

Cheap appliances, the premises is covered in dog poop, some of the units smell of weed as you walk past them. As other posters said, trash service is awful, the property is not maintained well.
